I can't understand the "so slow" criticism. I read it straight through. It was incredible. I really should watch the film, but I'm scared. I don't want them to ruin it.

It’s just a lot of descriptions & there isn’t a lot happening. For people like me, who can’t actually see anything while reading, the descriptions are just too much 🥴

(view spoiler)[Damn okay, so Kyas mother left her and her siblings, and then they all left her. She seems to be very poor & can; t read. Her father clearly sucks aw. And Chase was killed/died. Not sure yet how I feel about the constant back and forth between past and present tbh. I’m also not a big fan of their language ngl. I’m glad her relationship with her dad is getting better though. I absolutely adore Tate already, leaving her feathers and reaching her to read :’) I want them together already teehee. Don’t want Chase ew, but maybe we’ll start to like him. I love how she’s developing. And we got some background on her parents too, finally! And everyone’s real names lol.

Their relationship is truly the best :’) and Mabel is truly great too, although I’m scared something is going to happen to her and Juniper - especially with all the racism.

Omg she and Tate finally kissed!! Absolutely adore them together. And now he’s leaving 😭😭 at least her language is improving, didn’t love the way she talked 🤣 I hate that Tate didn’t come back, I hope he’s okay. Maybe he’ll kill Chase in the future, since he’ll definitely start something with Kya too? Ugh he did come and see her but just didn’t like her anymore??? Dammit Tate. (hide spoiler)]

Maybe it gets good but for us, it's slow. Nothing is happening. Some people love it, some don't.

Oh! I have this annoying thing where I can't actually imagine things while reading. So, when there are a lot of descriptions, I get bored because I can't visualize it! I always need fan art to visualize a character, I mostly see someone I know/know of because I can't imagine them differently lol

Finished (view spoiler)[ Well, I don't know what to say about the ending of this book. This book could have been cut in half, but the second have was certainly good. I teared up a bit at them not having a family, Jumpin dying, and of course, her. The whole Chase thing was... weird. I guess we are supposed to think that she did kill him, but it's supposed to be a mystery. If so, she truly gave no idication of this, and I guess I don't like that sort of mystery. I'm not a reader that likes to be left wondering. (hide spoiler)]

Don't do it. I'm watching it now and while it isn't the absolute worst, you probably wouldn't like it.

(view spoiler)[The ending was odd! I teared up too at Jumpin's death :'( I really liked him. I saw the Chase thing coming, but I didn't expect her to be that poet what the hell? That came out of bloody nowhere. I also hated how quickly it suddenly all went - the entire book was slow as hell, and then the ending felt really rushed. I wish we could've seen Tate and her together instead of this quick mention of them and their life :( (hide spoiler)]

Omg Tate is the cutest, I could truly cry :( come on kya see how much of a dick chase is. Damn she’s being so naive, glad she figured out that Chase is engaged to another. Man, he massively sucks. Pearl didn’t seem mad about him talking to Kya though, kind of odd? Jumpin actually makes me tear up, he better not die. Love that she published book(s)!!!

Jodie is back!! I’m sad her mom died, but I’m glad we finally know she didn’t willingly stay away nor left. Poor thing, her life sucked. And Tate is the cutest, I’m glad Jodie is telling her that too. I hope Jodie won’t die too, in the war, but I have a feeling he will :( (hide spoiler)]

The hat was really Tate's omg I knew it. I think he did it, he got too mad at Chase for realizing that he hurt Kya :( I don’t want him to go down for it either tho. Tate is so heartbreaking omg, just let him in girl 😭

Sunday Justice us bloody great lmao, I love the cat, and I like Jacob too. Tom is a great lawyer though. I sort of do feel like Kya did it, she doesn’t actually deny killing him. I just want to know how it’ll end, I do sort of feel for the characters. Omg I wonder whether it was really Tate on that bus, I really do think she did it tbh. (hide spoiler)]

And she finally admitted that she’s into Tate but now they took him omg, tell me he won’t be in jail now. I hate it if they don’t get their happy ending. There are like 15 pages left but I have to get off my train aaaah!!!

Aw no it’s Tate’s dad, he died, but finally accepted Kya :( no Jumpin' did die :( the pacing was suddenly really off wtf we’re rushing through all the changes - Jodie married and got kids, the entire town has modernized wtf! Not surprised at all that she truly did it, kinda teared up when she died tho. And she was the Hamilton poet damn, did not expect that! The cookbook extra pages at the end was cool too tho.

I’m still not sure how I feel honestly, it was slow but I did start to feel for the characters. I’m glad Kya and Tate ended up together, but I hate that we barely got any info about that?? I wanted to see them together and not this vague ending of them :( I mean, we got more time of her and Chase than her and Tate?? I’m also so sad they didn’t have kids :( (hide spoiler)]
