JoAnne, I got my first response to your question. (It came all the way from Afghanistan. My son is stationed there. You gotta love the internet!) He said, "You can't, really (convert the file number to pages). It depends on the font size she's (the author) using, and other formatting changes to mobi."

I plan on asking my husband when he gets home from the store.

I thought that might be the case. I did email the author directly and waiting to hear back. Soon as we know how I should handle it I'll submit this week's numbers.

I'll be away most of next week so may not be able to give you July final totals until late Friday or Saturday along with the rest of the week's numbers.

JoAnne, my husband did some searching. He found this formula: Page=Location/16.69. He plugged in the numbers, and came up with between
415 - 450 pages. That seemed kind of high to me.

The person who posted this formula went on to say that the formula was unreliable.
" ...there's no linear relationship between location numbers and page numbers, and therefore no formula to convert the former into the latter." (Whatever that means. My husband explained it to me. I didn't catch most of what he said :)

I hope you hear back from the author.

Me too. If I don't hear this weekend would it be okay to use 200 pages? 150 pages? Not so low but still adds to our numbers.

Great. If I don't hear from the author I will submit my challenge info using 200 pages.
Thanks for your help.

I just heard back from the author. She said it's about 400 pages so your husband was pretty accurate. I'll go with 395 and post my challenge update now.

You're welcome. The e-book I'm currently reading didn't have an easily accessible number of pages either. Found it on KOBO. Amazing the amount of sleuthing sometimes needed.
