thanks! I did some digging on the shelves and several people have tagged it with military.

If this is the A that is chosen for next week, can we read multiple books by that author for the week or do we have to pick a different author for each post?

Team 7 - Nights at the Beach

Kiss Me if You Can by Carly Phillips
Pages: 402
B is for Beach - Set in NY City - noted on book info and precis
B is for Body Art - tattoo on cover
B is for Beginning - Bachelor Blogs #1
Completed: 6/26/19
Rating 3.5 stars
Second book for this task

Scavenger Hunt Rose
❤️ Date Task: Week 1 - B is for Beach
❤️ Book/cover link:

❤️ Page numbers with source: 311 pages as per GR page
❤️ Qualifications: Brooklyn in precis; tattoos on arm & body on cover; 1st in series as seen on book page
❤️ Date/Rating: 27 June ★★★
❤️ 3rd book for Week 1 - B is for Beach/1st Scavenger Rose

I looked everywhere I could think of, including a google search and the author's website and I can't even find a word count for this book. 🤷🏻♀️ Since there is a page requirement for this challenge, I need something before it can be counted. So unless Amazon/GR adds a page count, this one won't count - I'm sorry. ☹️

Yes, that works.
And I'm glad you found a way for your other book to work too. 😊

You can read more than one book by that author or read different authors - as long as each book/author qualifies it counts!

Thanks kat it's okay at least its only one book not like the last challenge when it was eight. I be more careful😂

I felt sooooo bad about that! I'm glad you took it like you did and just kept playing because any team would be lucky to have you! 😊 It is just so weird that there isn't anything for that book.

Or maybe just do a comparison between books of similar size, one that also lists book length.
Sorry, just throwing thoughts out there. Totally understand if you don't want to go down that road :)

That is a pretty big rabbit hole, especially with a book that is KU exclusively. Word count I could work with, file size - I have never seen anything that equates to page count.

Or maybe just..."
I did that in the first challenge and was it was barely allowed one time. Thanks for trying!!!🤗😂

can this be any edition posted on GRs or does it need to be the edition being read?

I know there was some GR group I was a part of that had a "number of words to number of pages" conversion, but I haven't been able to find it again. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Just for future reference maybe...

From the Pass The Parcel challenge:
Q: My book doesn't have a page count on Goodreads but I have the word count. Can I use the word count and what is the minimum acceptable?
A: Yes - a 35,000 minimum word count will be accepted as a substitute for the 100 page minimum. Because the word count to page conversion varies greatly, I have gone at the high end for this conversion.
Q: My book doesn't have a page count on Goodreads but Amazon does have a page count. Can I use Amazon's page count?
A: Yes. Please provide a link to the Amazon book page.

Thank you Jane!!!

For A: Always (married MCs). Do they need to be married at the beginning, or can it be at some point in the book? Thinking 'marriage of convenience' plots etc.

can this be any edition posted on GRs or does it need to be the edition being read?"
Any edition.

I'm happy to work with word counts if there is no page count. And Amazon is an acceptable source if GR doesn't have a page count too.
It was file size that I've never seen an equivalent for. 🤷🏻♀️

Marriage has been added to the acceptable words for title, precis, tags and lists. So marriage of convenience works. 😊

Yes, that works.

Yes, that works."
Thanks!!!

I won't be able to tell you are just a perfectionist like me and are correcting a typo or if your book/post didn't qualify. I will disqualify any completions edited after the date ends. ☹️
If you need to make any additions - 'oops I forgot my rating' or edits - 'yikes, I didn't say the qualification was from the precis', make a second post stating they are corrections to message #xx. If they are minor, I will almost certainly accept them. If they are major, like you listed the wrong book, I probably will disqualify. But better to try that way, than to have it automatically disqualified by editing after the date ends!

Confirmed.

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, but I couldn't find it.
So we have to complete and post our books by midnight tomorrow (Friday) and the next date won't be called until Saturday at 6pm, right? So, if I'm in the middle of reading a book for the B rose, but don't finish it, and it turns out to also work for the A rose (next category), can I use it? Or only books started after the call each week?
Thanks!

The books need to be entirely read within the date - Saturday at 6 PM US EST through Friday at Midnight US EST.
You are free to start the book over again, I've done that for challenges but only if I'm still early in the book. Probably not worth it if you are in the middle of the book though. Best bet would be to try to finish before the next date task is announced. 😊

Nevermind! I found something else.

Forgive me. I'm so confused. I don't know if this book I read would count for the scavenger rose?
Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan
Set in the Big Apple - on the GR main page
First in the series
Tattoo on cover -

Beach - set in NYC
But beach and setting are the same. Does that count?

That book does work for the Scavenger Hunt Rose. However, it has already been claimed for that rose and each book can only be claimed once (the list of claimed books is on Message #4 on this thread). Although, you can still count it as read on your team post.

Ah! Thanks! Didn't know one had to claim the rose 🙈 But I can count then just for a normal rose? Like for my team tally?

Yeah, for sure.

A distinct work is when the book is unique and does not duplicate any other work. So basically, how many different books an author has published.
To find how many distinct works an author has, you go onto the author's page and scroll down to '(author's name's) books', underneath it should have avg rating, ratings and reviews and then the amount of distinct works, which is what you want to look at.

I don't think it would qualify for this challenge at all because it isn't a main page romance, and this rule has no exceptions. Although, if enough people shelve it as romance it may fit the task, but I'm not too certain on how exactly that works.
