So, Art, what does 三体 mean? I assume . . . Japanese?

domo arigato!

Literal translation is three body, it's the actual original title of the novel.

Domo arigato = どうもありがとう。

どうもありがとう is the only thing I remember from the one semester of Japanese I took in college. I have absolutely zero talent for languages, so I really admire so many of you who are multilingual

I thought about word 'body'. It is interesting that the same term is used in English, several Slavic and Chinese for both human and a celestial object. Chinese hieroglyph used can be split into (hu-)man and root/source, so body is a source/essence of man

Following up with another funny kanji from the same family, man [人] leaning against a tree [木] means "to rest" [休]. Just random information, the symbols are similar and that's about it.

Yep, and source is tree's root - I've studied a bit of deductive kanji :) so I don't know how they sound but I sometimes can guess what a kanji means
