Hello, My name is Mel from Chicago. I joined this group a few days ago when I was looking for more horror by women. I have always liked horror and things that tend towards the dark side of things. My horror movie tastes tend toward the more old B movie monster movie stuff. As far as reading goes I tend to enjoy the monster stories the best, giant worms, vampires, etc., but am into reading any type of horror books that look interesting or fun. I also enjoy some humor with my horror.

Happy Friday the 13th! Busy day this year! It's Mid-Autumn Festival since it's the full moon. And our newest Navy Chiefs were pinned today.

Shaina wrote: "Spoiler cuts might make things shorter and easier. And you know... less spoilery."Where would you like to see spoiler cuts @ Shaina? In the discussion threads? I'd hate for anyone to get spoilered so if others feel the same, please let me know and I can create one thread for discussion and we can all use spoiler tags.
Well like talking about things that happen in books or movies like : Land of the Dead and The Ring. Some ppl may be hopelessly behind ! I’m not, I just thought , you know. Actually I haven’t seen Land Of the Dead, so I’m half hopeless.
There was one that seemed so for Salem’s Lot, too. Those who haven’t seen or read that full book. (I know this is all in good fun and I don’t want to mess with that. ) I luv it. Just behind a bit in old skool
Hello Everyone, I'm Kasey - lover of almost all things horror (not a fan of torture porn and i tend to squick out with body horror). I live for haunted house/building stories, southern gothic, and I'm always up for giving possession books a try, but those can be hit or miss. I love coming across new female horror authors, especially books written by women of color. Looking forward to getting lots of new recommendations!
Hi Kasey. I'm with you on the torture and body horror thing! I like my stuff with a supernatural element!
Hi everyone I’m Rosanne and I love to read horror books and I look forward to getting more recommendations and expand my love of all kinds of horror.
Hi all! My name is Anika (nikzcyn on IG) from New York. I love anything horror and I am very excited to join this group.
Hey everyone, I'm Sophie from Brisbane, Australia. Had no idea Goodreads also had groups so I'm giving this one a go. I adore horror stories and I'm hoping to get some excellent recommendations from here!
Hey there,I'm Bobbie from Maine, originally from Tennessee. Love to scare myself to pieces reading horror books. Always on the look-out for new authors!
Hey, my name is Lynn. I write horror, dark fantasy, and poetry mostly. I wanted to find a group and so glad I found this one! Yay! Hi!

Hi, I'm Michelle, from Germany, and recently joined this group^^ I've found you guys through IG and have been following you there for a while. Now I finally got around to joining and I hope I will be able to participate enough. I've been getting more into horror since I reached my mid-twenties and I want to get around to reading more female authors in this genre so this group is actually a good way for me to do so, I think^^ Nice to meet you all!
Hello all! Words cannot express how happy I was to have found this group on Goodreads. Thanks so much to the creators and mods! :) Before I dive too far, here is a quick intro. I am a full time paramedic intern/lover of emergency medicine, mother, and crime scholar. I hold a master's degree in criminal justice and worked in youth advocacy and corrections before returning to school to study emergency medicine. I created a spiritual reading group here many moons ago and find great joy in that. Last, I am a horror/supernatural writer and poet myself (not yet published for a myriad of reasons). Writing helps me process some of the difficult scenes I find myself responding to and is a deep part of who I am creatively. Anyway, I suppose I will start off by supporting a few of the authors who are sharing their work for reviews. I look forward to exploring all of the horrific things that are yet to come with each of you! :)Blessings,
Ravyn
