What are you reading in Sept. '14?

Finished Half a King. I thought it was awesome, but my opinion might be largely influenced by the ending. Lighter yes, but didn't really come across like YA to me.

Reading Mockingjay now. I've heard mixed things about this book I think. We'll see how the conclusion plays out.

I just finished Clash of Kings (Game of Thrones #2) and I think I'll stop there and wait for #7.

Finished Glen Cook's Black Company series (Water Sleeps and Soldiers Live) and, finally, read Twilight. Good story potential for sure, but the writing sure gets in the way. How many breathless superlatives can one author use?

That said, it goes to show that a good story (the whole point of fiction, after all) can be successful, independent of the writing. What a wonderful "rags to riches" story on the part of Mrs Miller. All too frequently the purist writing "snobs" ignore the actual story as if it is unworthy of being read.
