So I heard about this book a year or two ago and I’m pretty sure it was a newer book. Like written with 5 years or so. And I can’t remember the overall plot because my friend didn’t want to spoil anything, but one detail I can remember is companies would buy days of the year. Like almost every day had a sponsor. I think it’s a bigger book. Around 900 pages. And I don’t think it’s obscure. I’m pretty sure it’s pretty popular. But I’ve been searching on google and cannot find it.

No it’s not one of those. It’s not super dystopian. It’s more like just an exaggerated idea of what the world could be if we keep becoming more consumed with entertainment and the attention economy keeps becoming more powerful. I think.
Oh my goodness I found it. Infinite Jest. That’s what I was looking for.
