We don't know much about the Spymaster. He is a mysterious figure who reports to the Elf King about Weed's findings. Strangely enough, he is the one punished for the Weed's mistakes. The Spymaster is an elf who to me is a bit of an evil being. I think this because when he sent the Weed to the kingdom of Goblins he knew perfectly well that he was sending Spurge on a suicide mission. Not only did he not tell Spurge that this was a mission he would not come back from. But he told him this was part of the effort to make peace between the Goblins and the Elves. I think that it is ironic he is the leader of the order of the clean hand. Not only does is he missing fingers, but it also goes against the idea of being a spy to have a clean hand.
