Hamlet Discussion Question

If Hamlet and Ophelia would have actually got together, how do you think the play would have changed? Do you think that they would've been able to keep each other sane and help each other cop with the lost of their fathers? or do you think they both would've still ended up dead in the end?

I think the play would have changed dramatically, in the sense that we would probably see another side to Ophelia. Hamlet was constantly throwing insults at her, so she didn't seem to have the opportunity to grow as a character. However, I feel as though Hamlet would pull the "but I'm grieving more" at Ophelia and believe that his loss would be much more valuable than hers.
