Werfel has been nothing but a complete gentleman. From the second that Spurge arrived, Werfel did everything in his power to make Spurge feel welcome. He even risked his own safety to help and protect Spurge. For example: He lied to the secret police in his own home when he was questioned about whether or not Spurge was a spy; he lied to the guards at the opera when Spurge snuck away to keep the elf safe and out of trouble; he told Regibald du Burgh to kill him instead of the elf after the elf insulted all of goblin-kind; and even helped the elf escape from the goblin army that was trying to kill him because he had spied on the Well of Lightning. He ran away to be a criminal with his guest when he could have easily turned him in and lived the rest of his life in his town. Werfel put his life on the line to help Spurge and in my opinion has been the best host you could ever hope for.
