Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments When I post a trivia question of the form, "which of these books is this from?", a librarian deletes all the book links except the correct answer. (So the person answering the question /knows/ the answer, having selected questions about that book.

Will my links to authors also be deleted, if I post a "which of these authors" question?

Is there a place where such policies are written?

After a librarian deletes information from a trivia question, does the deleted information still exist somewhere, so that it /could/ be restored, if a librarian felt like it?

Librarian edits that you think are incorrect should not be discussed here, but reported/flagged.

We have no way of knowing what another librarian might delete.

Also, in my experience, deletions can generally not be reverted.

ETA I found these guidelines on the trivia edit page:

"TRIVIA GUIDELINES
Please avoid spoilers in your questions.
Only add literary-related questions. Most questions should mention at least one book or author in the question text.
Please use the "add book/author" links when mentioning which books and authors the question is about. This will ensure the question appears on the correct book and author pages on the site.
Please don't add personal questions — trivia is for everyone, not just your friends.
Offensive language or images will be removed."
