Sorry Kristine, Monet is wrong.Remember: most pics I start with in this quiz, are not what the artist is famous for...
Geoffrey wrote: "cezanne used a lot of blue in his paintings."Quiet possible, but it is not Cezanne.
When looking for less familiar (virtually unknown it turns out) works by this artist, I came across only a handful of landscapes. Here's another one, maybe it will help, if you recognize the setting?
I think it never came out in Belgium. I didn't know it existed until I went looking for pics for this thread ;-)
I started to watch the movie "Modigliani" last night but had to bail. Paris holds a semi-sacred place in my imagination and I don't like to see it treated cavalierly. The movie was iffy from the start but when Modigliani dances in the streets of Paris to Edith Piaf singing "La Vie En Rose" I have to say NO! NO! NO!. Modigliani died in 1920. "La Vie En Rose" was written in 1945. There should be some obligation to at least nod at the truth when filming a biography of a famous person. Again and again I see Hollywood sleazily portraying our hero and heroines lives in order to tell a catchy story.
