SOLVED. Sci-Fi -- On a distant planet, a soldier wakes up as a mech and seeks revenge on the corporation that turned him

I didn't read the whole book (that's why I'm looking for it) just a sample I got from Amazon. I think I read it around 2013-2014, give or take. I'm pretty sure the book starts with a soldier waking up and finding he's bound, and then realising he's been turned into a mech so he struggles to break free. We also get some POV shifts with the guy responsible for turning him, and someone else.

I'm pretty sure it was part of a sci-fi space series and the author was self-published on Amazon: I think I remember the first book being trashy with a guy who lost his family hooking up with a couple of women on this hostile alien planet after their ship crashes (that cover had a guy and two women in the jungle). I think the book I'm looking for, which is the 3/4th in the series, was better written and that's why I'm still interested in it.

Okay, I'm pretty sure I've found it.

It's called Mech 3: The Empress (Imperium) by B. V. Larson. I kept coming across their work when searching but for some reason didn't click on this book till now.

Now I'm happy :)
