Josie's Bar

He smelled boiled peanuts, cheap cologne, cigar smoke, and beer. He could hear a drunken man trying to lure a waitress into his booth. The waitress gave an indignant huff and slapped him before practically dropping his beer on the table and storming off. But those were the obvious senses.
The scent of blood and rusted steel, followed by a loud curse told him that one of the men in the corner had accidently cut himself while absentmindedly running a finger along the edge of his pocket knife. One of the sinks in the back kitchen was leaking. In the back alley a cocaine dealer was trying to hook a guy going out for his smoke break. Four stacatto thumps on a dumpster lid, followed by a 'Meow', and the tiniest jingle of a bell told him a runaway cat had jumped up onto the dumpster. One of the Poker players was using an earpiece to cheat.
It was no surprise then, that Matt's ears picked up on a sigh that he knew would be imperceptible to anyone else. He made his way over to the bar and cleared his throat behind where the woman sat. "Excuse me, Miss, I'm in need of your services."

"Really, I should have known I couldn't hide from him....." Rogue thought as she shook Matt's hand. "Rogue and he's probably right." She smiled slightly as she let go of his hand. "He always said I had an unique skill set."

"This isn't the safest place to talk about this." Murdock said as he heard two large bikers approaching the bar, weighed down by heavy leather and chains. "Perhaps we could stop by my law firm? I'll brew some tea or coffee."

Rogue waited for the lights to come on without complaint. She took in the room once the lights were on. She smiled as she made her way carefully around the mess to the chair. “Reminds me of a few other offices I’ve seen so it’s ok.” She said as she sat in the chair. She watched him as he went to move the papers but then decided to sit. She listened as he spoke about the Irish Mafia then the Brotherhood of Mutants. “Not those guys again…” Was her first reaction follower by a sound of distaste. “They’re nothing but trouble…”

"So I've gathered. The same could be said for the Kitchen Irish. Have you got any idea what they might be planning together? What are the Brotherhood's interests? Are they merely being paid to intimidate the shopowner's into paying protection money? Highly unnecessary. Are they protecting the drug dealers? Possible. But it doesn't seem like the right answer."

Rogue thought a moment. "No, but I'm sure it's not good. I'm sure that the Brotherhood will turn on them in an instant once the cover is no longer needed..." She crossed her arms. "The Brotherhood aren't normally hired guns..."

((Also, I'm not sure what their motivation should be. I haven't thought this through at all. Any ideas?))

(At the moment no but I'm sure I can come up with something.)

(K, I'll be here)

Coulson had informed her about the situation about the Brotherhood joining with a gang in the Kitchen so she had been sent here.

Matt nodded and walked back to his desk. "Any insight into their motivation or modus operandi would be appreciated." What do you know?" He sat down again across the desk from Rogue and gestured vaguely to a third chair, inviting Daisy to sit. "What do either of you know?"

Even at the late hour, the bar was semi loud with the voices of the patrons that frequent it. There were a lot of tough characters in there drinking and playing pool. It was a wondered that they got anywhere for how dark it was. An unheard sigh came from one of the tables in a dark corner. The woman sitting there wasn’t in the least entertained by those in the bar. Yet it was comforting that no one seemed to know her. It would remain that way if she stayed in the shadows. That is if she didn't let the boredom get to her. She sighed once more before taking a drink. She resumed watching the patrons as she leaned back in her chair. What she didn’t expect was that the next person that walked though the door would be looking for her.
