More than ready. Heck, I've lived in Southern California for 30 years, so I'm already used to the geography, the total lack of rain, and hiding from the outside when the winds hit. Probably the only difference I'll notice is the lower gravity.

Easily said by someone who is mostly a lobbyist, the question is, will the right people hear it? To make it happen, at this point, there needs to be consistent requirements that don't change with every Congress/US presidential administration and guaranteed funding. Neither seem likely from the US.

Absolutely not! Anyone who thinks they know better than experts then resorts to horrid insults when criticised by said experts does not deserve funding! That's the kind of guy who will do things wrong and get people killed because he thinks he knows better.
