"After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up."

Now, lets talk about why we love this book so much!
Have you guys heard of the movie that coming out?

I loved this book and can't wait to read the second one! My favorite character would be a tie between Cassie and Evan I think they work really well together. Also at first I was confused when it switched to a different characters point of view with out really naming that character till later but I got used to it once I figured out who was speaking. Also the book had me doubting some things in the book which was awesome but I refused to change my opinion on some people and in the end am glad I did not change my opinion, the others made their lies so believable.

Carlie Ann (carlielucas) | 50 comments I'd really like to read this but I'm reading adult novels atm to get a break from the YA world. Don't get me wrong, I love YA and I've read so many but I needed a change in writing style and whatnot.

Maddie Wecker Okay I have two questions to ask:

1) did anyone else skip part 10 cause mine went IX A Flower To The Rain and then XI A Thousand Ways????

2) And did anyone else find most of the military part with Ben extremely similar to Full Metal Jacket???
