Andy | 5 comments I’d really like help with this. I think it might have been called The Fall, but if so I can’t find it. Author name would be greatly appreciated as I’d love to re-read it, but I read it as library book in my teens - possibly 20 years ago. Thanks.

Andy | 5 comments Additional - the cover was orange, and looked like some kind of demon face.

Time's Eye, maybe?

Andy | 5 comments I just read the blurb and I think that was it. Thank you, I was searching for entirely the wrong book:)

haha, I was just going to say that probably wasn't it because the cover didn't match your memory! Happy to help. Can we consider this solved, then?

Andy | 5 comments It seems to be solved - at least the description seems to be what I remember of it. Maybe it was a different edition?
If, when I read it it isn’t the same book I’ll consider it a mystery.
Thanks again for your help.

OK, then I'll move this to Solved, since you sound pretty sure. If it turns out not to be the one you were thinking of, just let us know and we can move the thread back into Unsolved. :)

Ingo (ilembcke) | 669 comments Although this seems solved, I have another suggestion (not read, though, sorry to say):
Riverworld, starting with:
To Your Scattered Bodies Go (Riverworld, #1) by Philip José Farmer To Your Scattered Bodies Go
While the cover shown is part orange, I would not consider it a demon face.
Also there is no mention of Ghenghis Khan (checked Wikipedia).

This was filmed twice for TV, once as a TV-miniseries and a few years before that as a TV-movie.

Just to add a similar story to the quest.

Good point, Ingo. This series came up in my searching because Ghenghis Khan does show up in one of the other books in the series, so it's worth checking out!

message 10: by Andy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Andy | 5 comments Actually it was Time’s Eye... I was remembering the cover for one novel and the contents of a different one I was looking for.
So, the mystery is solved, and I’ve been listening to the audiobook at work today.
