Nick Sullivan | 10 comments Hi! Deep Cut appeared on Goodreads with a placeholder cover (with a slanted horizon). Final cover (level horizon) was uploaded to Amazon in late March but Goodreads entry still has the old one. Can someone help? Just FYI updated covers on amazon never over-ride covers already on goodreads.

Did any copies go out for review etc using the slanted horizon cover?

No, no copies went out with that slanted cover. It was changed pretty quickly. My designer was playing with the angle, then Audible needed something up on Amazon that they could “claim” to begin the audiobook project (and desgner hadn’t yet made my requested alteration). It appeared on Goodreads without my adding it.

Thank you for the FYI! I don’t anticipate that particular series of events repeating, but if it ever did, is it possible to prevent Goodreads from adding the book until we want it to? Or does it occasionally “scrape” Amazon for new arrivals, and it’s automatic?

You will want to ask Support if they will replace the cover for you instead of adding a second cover edition. Since the slanted cover was uploaded automatically by Amazon on March 21st, it will be easier for Support to address this. Someone put it in to Amazon which is why it uploaded.

You can add a book yourself with the ASIN so that it will not import by itself, but it is a small window of time.

Nick Sullivan | 10 comments Thank you, Emily! One of my leads in Deep Cut is an Emily :) I will try contacting Support as you suggest. Sorry about the dupe post, I thought I had deleted the old one to make way for a re-request with simpler wording.
