I have a copy of it, so I'll join. I see the plot involves a legal action involving a lady. Between the plot and the length, I really hope it's not another The Eustace Diamonds.

I'll probably join in. I just looked up to find that it was published between Framley Parsonage & The Small House at Allington and a few years before the Palliser series.

It's not. The main female, Lady Mason, is not like Lady Eustace. While the novel is not as exciting or complex as The Way We Live Now, it's a solid well-crafted novel with good characterization.

Orley Farm was written when Trollope was 47, 3 years after his return from Ireland. He had already written a number of stand alone novels and this was written between Framley Parsonage and The Small House at Allington.

Feel free to post any other information/background about this novel.
