Hiii :) So did you have any ideas or do you want to go with something similar to The Walking Dead? XD

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Nothing really, but how did you really want to go about it, since we’d need two ideas since we have doubles

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Sounds good :) I think we should have on big group, and maybe mine would be brother and sister? I feel like there should be 6-7 people in the group, but our four would be the main characters. What do you think?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Same here. Sounds great, I’ll get to making my characters. By the way, they might not be so detailed >.<

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh that sucks, hope you get better soon! :)

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmm... I was going to make my girl 18 and the boy 19.

((Sure :))

Rose was sitting next to Andy on the ground near the fire, the orange flame flickering brightly, illuminating their faces. Andy was her brother, and he didn’t talk much. The only person who really understood him here was Rose, and she didn’t talk much either. Over the past month that they’d been with this group, both of them had become the odd duo in the group. A lot of people were distrustful of them and afraid that they’d kill them in their sleep. But Rose and Andy were nothing like that. Sighing, Rose leaned her head on his shoulder, staring absently into the flames.

~

Andrew had a pistol in hand, glancing around intently at his dark surroundings. This group was made up of a few people, none of them he trusted well at all. He and Rose had taken the first watch shift of the night, so that everyone else could sleep safely. But he knew that there were a few in their tents that slept with one eye open when they were on watch.
There had been a lot of talk around the camp of a place up north that had food, shelter, water, and medicine. He’d only known because he was quiet enough to always be listening. To survive, you have to be wary of your surroundings.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose lifted her head from her brother’s shoulder to glance at the boy sitting nearby against a tree. It look like he was asleep now, but she still couldn’t help but be distrustful of everything. The two siblings used to be in a survival group made up of their parents and other close relatives, but of course they ran into a hoard of the undead one day and she and Andy were the only ones who made it out alive. Every moment she spent awake, she thought about the fear on her mother’s face just before she got bitten and screamed for them to run. Sitting up with a start, she looked around with slightly heavy breath, having had a bit of a bad dream. “I’m going to take a walk.” She murmured to Andy before getting up, passing Liam.

~

Andy jumped slightly when his sister gasped and got up, making him wonder if she was okay. But at them mention of a walk, he nodded his head, “Be careful.” Was all he said to her before glancing at the girl over his shoulder. She looked familiar, like he’d seen her around the camp before. Instead of dwelling too long looking at her, he turned back towards the fire and let a puff of air out through both nostrils. All he could really think about lately was keeping his loved ones safe, and all that really was anymore was Rose. She was all he had left ever since everyone died.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose didn’t even jump when she heard a voice behind her, and instead continued manoeuvring her way through the brush. She didn’t respond, since she knew that it wasn’t safe but could take care of herself. Not to mention that she wanted to be alone anyways. By the time she’d reached the little pond that she often went to when she wanted to be solitary, she looked over her shoulder at him. “I’m fine on my own.” Was all she said before crouching down by the edge of the water, where it met the land. Whenever she was here, she felt at peace. It felt like a break from the harsh reality they lived in.

~

Andrew lifted his gaze when the girl walked over, studying her briefly before he continued staring into the fire. Why was she out so late? He and Rose had the first hour’s watch, not her. Finally giving up, he spoke after a moment. “What are you doing up? You should be in your tent.” He said simply, his expression emotionless while he spoke. There was a reason he and Rose didn’t talk much since the accident. They both didn’t want to grow attached to someone else only to lose them to the undead. It had hurt them so deeply when both their parents had died to save their lives that day, that neither of them wanted to go through it again.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose didn’t want to respond, instead staring intently at her own reflection down in the water. “Rose.” She murmured back in response, only half-heartedly listening to him. Internally, she was angry with herself every day of her life, but of course she didn’t tell anyone about it. Not even Andy. He knew how she felt, but did he feel the same way about their parents death? It was her fault they’d died that day wasn’t it? If she’d sacrificed herself, then her parents would’ve lived instead of her. With an exhausted sigh, she threw a handful of dirt down at her reflection, causing it to blur and ripple.

~

Andy could sense her surprise at him speaking, he would’ve been surprised too if he were her. “Out.” He replied simply once more, his voice deep and deadpan. The air around them had a slight smoky scent to it along with the venison they’d cooked up the night before. Andrew had gone out hunting by himself the other day, and luckily came back with a buck. Even if people didn’t trust he and his sister around the camp, they still pulled their own weight. They didn’t need anyone to take care of them, they just knew that it was better to be in numbers. No matter what could happen, he always had to make the smart decision, or else he’d regret it.

Rose looked down at the water for a moment longer, her brows furrowing in confusion. Why was he reaching out to her? Everyone else in the camp had simply pushed her and her brother away, dismissing them as selective mutes. Nobody had ever tried to find common ground with her before, and it felt a little nice that he was trying. She let out a shaky sigh, sitting down so that she could run a stressed hand through her blonde hair. “It’s my fault.” She murmured, turning her head away from him.

~

Andrew rolled his own eyes and stood up, now looking down on her with a stern gaze. “I meant my sister. She’s out. In the woods. Not everything’s about you.” He muttered deeply before sitting back down next to the fire, a loaded shotgun perched in his lap. He was good shot, since he’d learned how to shoot from his father.
This had to be the most he’d ever talked to someone in this entire camp. All he normally said was, Yes, or Ok. That’s why everyone thought he was crazy. Plus he just had this whole dark vibe going on that drove everyone away.

Rose literally jumped when she felt his hand on her shoulder, her eyes going wide as she snapped her head towards him. “D-Don’t touch me...” She murmured, her voice shaky. How could she had not realised that she was opening up to him? There was no way that he could enter her life, not now. She didn’t need to lose anyone else that she even mildly cared about. “And that’s it. They were trying to save me, that’s why it’s my fault.” She told him before getting up and stepping away from him.

~

Andrew shifted uncomfortably whenever she sat down next to him, finding the silence that swept over them rather awkward. “It’s fine.” He murmured before sighing deeply. The rules were that the previous watch couldn’t leave or sleep until the next watch was awake and ready. He’d been out here longer than he should’ve, so that must have meant the next person to watch wasn’t awake yet. Glancing over at her, he raised an eyebrow. Why was she still here? It’s not like he was good company.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose stepped back and looked up at him with emotionless eyes. Why did he care? He didn’t know her life or her thoughts, so why was he even trying? Both of them would probably end up dead anyways. “You don’t know me. So stop pretending you do.” She said harshly before she turned around and began manoeuvring her way back to camp. By the time she’d arrived, she noticed her brother talking with some girl she’d seen around camp. It was a little strange seeing him speak to someone who wasn’t her.

~

Andrew shook his head, his eyes scanning the dark tree-line around them. “I’m not going without my sister.” He murmured in monotone, perking up slightly when he saw the familiar blonde hair that belonged to his sister. “It was nice meeting you.” He murmured, slightly forced. Getting up, he started to walk away from her and back to his tent, rifle at his side. But something caused him to stop, look over his shoulder at her, and smile. It had to have been the first time he’d smiled in weeks.

(Skip to the morning? I feel like there should be a ‘leader’ in the camp that suggests the idea for moving on to find that place with shelter, food, water, etc.?)

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

((Sorry, school keeps me busy :/ ))

Rosa woke up the next morning just at the crack of dawn, having risen before the sun. Her hair was a bit of a mess, but luckily she still had the brush she’d had for God knew how long. After she’d brushed her hair (careful not to wake her brother) and changed into a different pair of clothes, she made her way back out to the forest, this time equipped with a crossbow. Rose did most of the hunting for the group, since she life to be productive but also alone. She tried not to think about last night, since she’d gotten to sleep on it.

~

Andrew was awake at least an hour after Rose had left, the sun shining down through the tent and into his eyes. With a light groan, he turned over to find her missing from the spot next to him. Though it didn’t surprise him, since he was used to her going out hunting alone. From what he’d seen, she could definitely take care of herself. She was a very independent girl, but that didn’t mean he didn’t worry for her. Getting up, he slipped on a shirt and restarted the fire. They’d need it for when Rose got back.

((Sorry, been busy with school >.< I’ll post soon enough, sorry >.<))

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose had a sharp eye and pretty good reflexes if she did say so herself. So much time alone in the woods gives you a chance to improve those kinds of skills, and lately it was becoming essential to have them. A rustling sound off to her right immediately snapped her out of thought, causing her to lift her crossbow, prepared to shoot at whatever it was. A walker missing an eye revealed itself from its previous spot behind a tree, hissing and growling at her with rotten flesh draping off of its face. Not long after, an arrow was engorged right in between its eyes. Well, between an eye and an empty socket. “Damn monster...” She muttered under her breath before yanking the arrow out of its skull. She needed to conserve her ammo, or things would get even worse.

~

Andrew sat down next to the flames after he’d finished starting it, his hands on his knees to dust them off. By the time he’d finished, the camp seemed to have gotten more active while people rushed about to get things done. Was something being planned? After scanning the area a bit longer, he noticed the girl from last night approaching him, followed closely by a young boy. He didn’t smile, but waved at them in a friendly way, trying not to seem too emotionless. Andy just didn’t like to open up to people, just like his sister, and for the same reason too. “Morning.” He murmured, taking one hand to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose glared down at the dead walker for a moment before she stepped back, immediately letting out a shriek of surprise as she was pulled off of her feet. A moment later, she was struggling to get out of one of the camp’s snares, hanging upside down with a rope digging into the skin on her ankle. God this is embarrassing... She thought bitterly while dropping her crossbow onto the ground, immediately grabbing at her knife so that she could maybe cut herself loose. All her struggling came to no avail, and she eventually gave up. Someone was out checking the snares, right? Hopefully they wouldn’t forget this one... Sighing in exhaustion, she allowed herself to just hang, her face growing red while her blonde hair nearly brushed the ground.

~

Andrew looked up when he was spoken to, having been making some gunpowder for the camp. He had the supplies, and their father had taught him how to do it as soon as the zombies had started to become a worldwide problem. “Me? I’m fine. You?” He asked half-heartedly before shoving the bag of gunpowder into his pocket. Some of the people around camp were murmuring off in little groups, as if they were planing something. It only agitated him further, since he hated being left out. He liked to think he was pretty useful in the group, since he pulled his own weight and often found himself finding new strategies to avoid walkers. Why weren’t they including him?

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Rose was silently crossing her arms before she was set on the ground, sitting up and cutting the remaining rope off of her ankle. “There was a walker nearby, I killed it, then stepped into this stupid snare...” She muttered before getting up, rubbing her eyes. At this point she had a bit of a headache, having had all her blood rush to her head from being upside down for so long. “Why do you care anyway?” She said bitterly, feeling slightly awkward after their whole confrontation last night. It’s not like she was going to pretend it didn’t happen, but she wasn’t going to act any different either. It was simple: She didn’t want to let anyone else into her life, since she didn’t want to go through the pain of losing them.

~

Andrew shrugged before looking back down at the flickering flames, “I’m fine. Just curious about what all the fuss is about.” He murmured deeply, glancing over his shoulder to a cluster of people speaking inaudibly. Jason, the leader of the little camp, was amongst that group. That means it had to be important, and Andy was done being left out of all this important crap. “Care to come with me to crash their party?” He smirked slightly, turning to back towards her with eyes sparkling from intrigue. He looked a bit like a little boy who was about to get back at a kid who’d called him stupid name. It served them right for him to do this, since they always left he and his sister as outcasts.
