Happy reading you cool cats!

Hi Leah,
I looked at your list and I'm going to read Murder on the Orient Express! I've been meaning to read something by Agatha Christie so this will be the time :)
Kathy
Ok, I am going to read The Outsiders

Nice to be paired with you again. I've got 3 in mind (1 is short children's stories), I will see which ones I can locate copies of:
The Future of Humanity: Terraforming Mars, Interstellar Travel, Immortality, and Our Destiny Beyond Earth
Macbeth
Kashtanka

If I can find my copy it Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows, I will read that as well. I’ve no clue where it went!

I just finished Macbeth! I listened to an edition that included a guided narration explaining who's who, and what's going on as the plot unfolds, historical insights and background information too. It was so helpful, I wouldn't have understood as much or enjoyed it as much otherwise! 4* for this edition!
Macbeth

I already have a partner, but can read two books in two months. I would love to partner up with you!

That would be fab Leah! I will go take a cheeky deeks at your bookshelf! x

I have chosen Goodbye Christopher Robin: A. A. Milne and the Making of Winnie-the-Pooh - Ann Thwaite
i'm sure I read this as a library book over 20 years ago, and it now has a new cover for the film. But a re-read is always good!

I haven't picked a book from your shelf yet, but I doubt I'll have any difficulty. As I'm a bit busy with schoolwork at the moment, it will take me a bit more time to choose from your shelf. Do you have any recommendations?
Happy reading!
M.

So...I looked through your shelf and found a lot of books that I've been wanting to read. I haven't decided yet, maybe between Pippi Long stocking or A Bear Called Paddington.
What kind of book are you interested in?
@Kathy - The Outsiders was an interesting book. I wouldn't say that I liked it. The writing style was a little odd for me, and the whole thing with the weird names, and the Greasers, was a little too confusing.

Hi Leah! There's also a movie if you want to see a different interpretation of it. I personally felt like it was a little overhyped too :( . I rated it a 3 - what did you rate it? I'm still reading Murder on the Orient Express. I'll let you know what I think about it soon!
@Kathy I gave it a two.
@Jazzy - I read The Hobbit! I liked it a lot, maybe a 4?

eep I haven't started yours yet. I'm finishing up a couple of others first :)
If i like it a lot I give it a 5!

Hi Mion
I decided to read A Bear Called Paddington and I LOVE IT A LOT!! I kept laughing in the middle of the street and had to clam up in case other people looked at me, but then I laughed out loud again and repeat the process all over lol I gave it 5 stars and would love to continue other Paddington's adventures.
Well, if you want to read detective stories you can try reading Hercule Poirot. I saw Poirot Investigates in your Read shelf and you gave it 5 stars. My favorite is The ABC Murders.
Or if you want to read some manga, I have Barakamon, Handa Kun, Yotsuba and I, and Miriam which are all my favorites.
Let me know if you need more help :)

A river in Darkness was definitely a harrowing story, I was shocked to learn the hard truth of the conditions these poor citizens are forced to endure under dictatorship. Sad story, but insightful! Glad you thought it was a good read too!
And I'm glad you liked Watership Down too! I LOVE anthropomorphized characters too :)
I'm now listening to Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World which you rated 5 stars. So far I'm finding it interesting, valuable conversations to have on this, and to not be afraid to challenge ourselves to make purposeful change!

Happy reading!

I have read Goodbye Christopher Robin: A. A. Milne and the Making of Winnie-the-Pooh - Ann Thwaite and it was nice to revisit it - 5 stars!
Hope you have a pleasant June!

Partner pairings announced: May 3rd (announced in this thread)
SUMMARY:
Participants are paired up for a two month period. You each choose a book(s) to read from your partner's shelves, and/or you can also do a buddy read. And of course you can exchange PenPal messages. This challenge runs bi-monthly, and you sign-up separately for each one you wish to participate in.
COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE
- Week 1-2: Review your paired partner's 'Read shelf' and choose a book(s) to read. (You can also choose from their TBR shelf, or you both can choose a book to buddy read together. )Post to this thread to update on the book chosen.
- Week 3-6: Begin reading, and post any updates/thoughts as you read.
- Week 6-8: Complete your read, and post to the thread with final thoughts on the book and comparing how you and your partner each rated the book.
