Caspian is a regular at the Sci-Fi Weekender, which sounds a lot of fun, but apart from that I don't know much about Cons. I have been to a couple of big car shows though, which were amazing.
As I appear to be off for a few more days, I thought about coming to York for one of the days. But the tickets are too expensive I think. :(
Very relieved as the first of the 2 stock deliveries has arrived. Now I'll have something to sell at York!
I read that as 'stork deliveries' at first!
Family's had one on those, too!(Been and enjoyed another cwtch today)

Sorry to hear that FantasyCon was quiet. I wonder if it suffered from coming so soon after LonCon.
Being serious for a moment Alison,(I'll pay for it later, I know...) I think it was partly the smaller size of convention, allied to the very large rooms made available by the venue, meant that the panels were more accessible; at the times they were running, the dealer room could be deserted ( except for the dealers, of course).Plus, the dealer room was closed at the time of the end of the last panel on the last day (noon), to allow time for those attending the BFSA award banquet to change and get to the room: so anyone leaving the panel and not going to the banquet could not have a last wander round.
Next year I'll make sure I do the Friday as well, and plan to spend the sunday afternoon in York itself, which I couldn't do this year.
Oh, and Angry Robot gave away free books ( probably well over a thousand) so that filled up the luggage for those not driving...I only came home with 6 new books so I felt quite virtuous

I might have come along just for a shuftie and stayed a few days with my daughter in Chepstow but... It's half term and they'll be here!
