In another thread, another member has suggested:Harper's Sealed Mystery Series: http://mysteryfile.com/Sealed/Harper.... but I can't tell if they were interactive.
Thanks Ayshe, it was Who Killed Robert Prentice? by Dennis Wheatley (the 1980s reprint version). I've been trying to remember that book for 20 years, but the minute I saw the book covers on your list and spotted this one I felt a tingle of recognition...and after a bit more research to confirm it, I found an example of an evidence photo from the book that I immediately recognized, even after all this time. Thanks so much for your help!

From what I remember of the plot, it was a solve-it-yourself-type murder mystery set in the 1930s or 1920s where the victim was a man with a harelip. I seem to recall that it was interactive, with envelopes, letters, clues, etc. that you could remove from the book and look at, including newspaper clippings and photographs. I think the solution to the mystery was in a sealed envelope on the inside back of the book. My aunt in Idaho owned the book, so it might even have been a regional printing, but unfortunately she can't recall anything about it now. If anyone recognizes it, or remembers other, similar books that may have come from the same publisher, I'd be grateful, as I'd love to read it again.
