Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is an animated story that contains a main character that any person can relate to. It contains different settings. These settings follow along the main character through their journey to succeeding to where they want to be. As Seuss guides you through the main characters journey. He is trying to connect to the reader as well by giving advice. Advice that will help you to balance the chaos that life has to offer. However, he encourages the reader to find the success that lies within us. No matter the many downs that we may experience along the way.
Furthermore, this book contains qualities that many young children, starting from early childhood to elementary school. Especially for students who are reading beginners. For starters, the vocab in this story is not too advanced. The vocab in this book is age appropriate. Also, the vocab and rhythm being used is beneficial to students’ phonic skills. Through the rhythm that this book contains. It develops the ability to identify, decode, and use syllabus with words. This allow students to become more efficient and fluent readers. Also, the story includes various illustrations that is pleasing to any child’s eye. These illustrations include various characters as well as bright colors.
Lastly, one of the many potential classrooms uses with this book is by creating an activity. This activity will allow students to write down their goals on a cut out of an air balloon. The air balloon emphasizes the fact that the sky is the limit when it comes to success. When finished, students are able to color the air balloon. The finished product can be placed around the wall. This will allow students to be motivated and encouraged to reach their goals.
