All the Light We Cannot See was given 3.5 stars. And that may seem a lower score, I think it will haunt me and ..."
I'm on the library list for this one, Lori. I think I am number 200 or so.
I enjoyed reading your reviews. Thanks for sharing with us. :)
My August Read List was a manageable five books.
The Good Dream was a story that grabbed me from the first page, and I couldn't put it down. It wasn't one I would recommend to everybody, but I have a couple people in mind I would suggest it to. Well-written.
Rating: 4/5
The Black Swan was an alright read. It moved along quickly enough, but was dry in a couple chapters. It was neat to hear the Swan Lake story from a different perspective.
Rating: 2/5
The Help was great. I saw the movie before I read the book, and I was quite impressed with how closely they stuck together. Of course there were minor discrepancies, but nothing so bad as "The Hobbit."
Rating: 4/5
The Thirteenth Tale was another excellent read. I loved the twist in the end, and am not ashamed to say I did not see THAT coming!
Rating: 5/5
The Stationary Ark I was very disappointed in. Usually I can zip through Gerald Durrell's books in a day, but this one was far less entertaining than his usual stuff, and it took me quite some time to get through it.

Beatleness: How the Beatles and Their Fans Remade the World
As a lifelong Beatles fan, I really enjoyed this book which was a compilation of many interviews the author held with first generation Beatle fans...the ones who grew up with the Beatles. I was one of the interviewees, so I had special interest in reading this book. I rated it 4/5.
On Mystic Lake
This was not one of my favorite Kristin Hannah books. I believe this was her first book. It read too much like a romance novel, which I'm not fond of unless there's a back story. Hannah's writing is very readable though, so it was not a complete loss.
Gave it 3/5.
