ABANDONED. Short SF Story about Programmer unknowingly working for Hell?

Hi all:

Looking for a short story written in the 80s or 90s about a programmer hired to fix an accounting program. He soon realizes he is consigning souls to hell. He reverts his changes and gets an angelic phone call telling him he did good.
