The theme of the book girl on a plane is cherished the moments you have with the people you love. I think this because Anna is stuck on a plane with hijackers in the middle of the Jordanian desert, while she is by herself without her family stuck with little food and water. She doesn't have her family with her and they are worried and they don't know if she is alive.
