Jaycee Singleton The Giver, my Lois Lowry, is an amazing story featuring a very heroic young boy. This book is a very deserving , award winning book, with so many fans. onas, the main character, lives in a plain world. This world is full of “sameness” where everything and everything one lives a simple and similar life. One day, Jonas is given the gift of being the receiver of memory. This job is very important as he is given memories of a world before this plain one. He receives life with color, love, and so much happiness. This wonderful story has so many twists and turns that has an amazing moral. Does living in this simple world have its benefits? Why would one want this? This world creates a barrier, shutting out the need for fighting and arguments about politics and life itself. This plain world would solve all of the fighting and disagreements that we have in our communities. This is a solution for so many and the final end to it all. This is definitely a book you want to buy and keep. Also, there is a movie that is based off of this. I have watched the movie but never read the book. The book is a lot different but the moral is always the same. Jonas was seen as a different young man that stuck out in his community. People were not allowed to know the secrets of the receiver and the giver of memories. And this is where it all begins.
