message 1: by Diane (new)

Diane Moseley | 1554 comments It's Not About The Bunny! -Song: (Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail, hippity, hoppity, Easter's on its way.) This is only part of the song but, we must remind our children the real reason behind Easter. It may be all innocent fun but, we don't want our children believing in the Easter Bunny. We celebrate Easter because of Jesus Christ's resurrection. -Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. -Proverbs 22:6
I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. -3 John 1:4-DIVINE WORDS BY DIANE.

message 3: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Buckland | 4 comments Would it be wrong to say, that at Easter we are celebrating Christ's death, as well as his resurrection? As in his death our sins are dealt with and we are reconciled to God. As our preacher this morning said, we consider Christ's death 'with grief and gratitude'.

Hi Hannah. Some would agree with that if we looked at Easter as a "season" like we do Christmas. His death on Good Friday was grievous, but it paid the price for our sins. His resurrection on Easter was an absolutely joyous occasion AND imputed to us life and righteousness (Romans 5:19 and 2 Corinthians 5:21, among others).
