Theme

The theme of The Outsiders is always stick together. This theme can be seen by the way the Greasers stick together like family through difficult times. They are there for Johnny who has a very rough home life, and Dally is there for Johnny and Ponyboy after the death of Bob. We can see this theme of sticking together develop over the course of the book as the Greasers take on the Soc’s and how each group works to defend the boys in their gangs.
