do you ever just not care. you don’t wear a seat belt, don’t eat, don’t move. you could care less if you lived another minute and sometimes just pray for the world the end right then and there because the people in it
i had a dream that i finally got a boyfriend and we had been dating for a while now. i went to say goodbye before a trip and as i went to kiss him he turned his cheek and i was very confused and he kind of just points towards his family watching and i got pissed and went on my trip
i remember waking up at 4am and it being super cold when you leave but getting sticky and gross throughout the day. quick gas station stops for coffee and pretzels. blaring music and finding old lost loved ones in the deepest roots of your playlist. learning everything there is to know about the person you’re with because there’s just something about the familiar smell and warmness that makes you so happy that you don’t care about anything else. talking about how the next field that has its watering system was the one we were going to run through and then realizing there is no next one so you turn around and find one.
one arm sunburned and the other freezing from the AC because despite how hot it is the windows are down because your arm feels amazing outside of that window and every so often you hit a bug but it’s okay because your arm was numb anyway so you just wipe the spot off with a sonic napkin and continue songs “American Pie” as loud as you can.
and then you reach your destination and you’re sad. after leaving at 4am, you return at 7pm. but you don’t care that you just spent 15 hours driving because it makes you happiest. so you return to your home and tell your family how it went and what you saw. about the pet store you went to that had a komodo dragon and that the owner opened his window just so you could pet him. and those memories stick with you for years after.
and so you wait and wait for the next time that you feel like that again.
wow okay i have to call my mom in about 2 hours so i should sleep u til then. i ended up not going home to say goodbye so i’ll see them in two weeks. just hoping this doesn’t go down the same way Frozen did.
