June 2019 will be the last month for everyone to be able to vote for the book choice. We have had several months of very low participation in the book discussions chosen by the group. We are looking at allowing only those readers who join the discussions to be able to vote for the upcoming book selections.

We are planning on using the Goodreads message for voting. The eligible voters will get a message from the moderator with the list of book to choose from. Those voters will be given a deadline to vote by.

We decided to go with readers who have participated in discussion within the past year. So for July 2019 book, readers who participated from April 2018 to April 2019 will be eligible to vote.

Marilyn | 185 comments I noticed that there was no message about voting this month. A moderator in another group posted this yesterday:

"Goodreads changed every user's privacy settings so that only friends can send them private messages.

If you like receiving the group messages reminding you to vote in the polls, and what we are currently reading - then this will effect you getting those messages.

You can change the setting back so that you can receive group messages. Go to your profile under the Settings tab, and under privacy settings there is a question about who can send you private messages. Change it back to "everyone"."

Her information is relevant to this group. If you want to get the group messages, you need to change your privacy settings . Goodreads, with their infinite "wisdom," better known as ignorance, changed everyone's privacy settings and DID NOT tell anyone.

After that, go vote!

I'll leave voting open for another day because of this.
