2. No, the fish like it as they usually find it very hard to make friends. And, as Sir David Attenborough pointed out in his most recent nature series, perch are fascinated by magnets and the rivets make it much easier for them to find magnets in even the muddiest of rivers.

It is rather a shame that most people get their science information from the press releases 'reinterpreted' by the press which often - at best - garbles the science, and at worst totally misrepresents it.

Probably.
Although there are attempt to bring it out more in to the open on the internet, but no-one knows how successful it will be.
