I'll have to go look what you have then. Apparently I don't like super popular books. Although I will likely have plenty in trendsetting. I am just still deciding if I want to go medium or serious.

I would totally throw either for him although I have terrible aim. lol. I can throw it a short distance for him though. :P

I think about half of them are classics. They tend to be super popular.
Go fun and be with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nevermind Sarah, I just saw the other message you have on this :)

Ah. I was like what? Where are you seeing this???
I think I can roll them? I'm not a very coordinated person. lol. I'm sure we would still have a ton of fun though. ^-^

Does a pseudonym count as being the same author?
Eg. V. E. Schwab has around 1.1 million shelved and Victoria Schwab has around 880k, and there is no book overlap between them. Would I be able to add those up and consider her an author with 1,670,000+ shelved, or can we only use the shelved count for the author name used on the specific book?

Awww. I might be asleep when you get back! :(
I'm hoping to be up for another 2 1/2 hours though. I need to get back on days for my baby.

My guess is that pseudonyms don't count but I don't think anyone has ever asked. O.o

I think the Shades of Magic series has been optioned for a tv show but that doesn't count.

+2 points if your book has been buddy read in this group before (prior to May 2019).
So I think the max you can get is 4. Since you can't combine both Bandwagon and Trendsetter.

+2 points if your book has more than 30,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.

Did you want it to be on the trendsetter list?

Best way to eat! I watch Friends. :P

Both are from bandwagon and both are worth two points so they are worth 4.
I was just mentioning trendsetter because I saw the rule you can't combine. :)

I meant that if pseudonyms counted, then it would count for +6 for Bandwagon (No Trendsetter items)

True. I didn't think of combining a rating one and a shelved one. O.o

Added - Amanda (fun), Crystal (fun), Jammin Jenny (serious), Azrah (solo), Leah (serious), Claire (fun), Ashleigh (serious), Siobhan (fun), Claire (serious), BookWorm (medium) ☺

Sorry, I noticed I'd missed an '0' yesterday so I edited it in the first posts which lists the bonus points, but forgot to edit it in the post lower down ☺
Yep, the 1,000,000 is high, but hopefully you'll be able to get to the max of 6 bonus points without using that one most of the time as the more popular books have been buddy read in the group before, or turned into a film or tv show, or have been published more than 10 years ago ☺

Hi Claire, if it's obvious on Goodreads - that is it has to say either on the book's Goodreads page that its a pseudonym, or on the author's page, then you can use either the pseudonym or the real name, so for
, you could use either V.E. Schwab or Victoria Schwab as both are listed.
and for
you could use either J. Lynn or Jennifer L. Armentrout as both are listed.
If it wasn't obvious though, and we couldn't clearly see that the name was a pseudonym for another author, then we wouldn't be able to count it. Does that make sense?

Sorry, I don't think I answered your question, you'd have to pick one or the other to use, you wouldn't be able to add them together because on that book for example, both authors are listed on the books page, and the book then appears under both author's shelves, so if you added together the times shelved by each author name, you'd be counting that book twice.
You could in theory add them together if the author wasn't listed on both works though, so
and
are the same person, but both names aren't listed on their books, so you wouldn't be counting anything twice. It would all depend on how they're listed on Goodreads really.

Hi Siobhan, I would only usually prevent someone from joining a medium team if they've joined medium 2 or 3 times, and haven't read at least 8 books each time. You haven't done that, so there would be no reason for me to not allow you to join a medium team ☺

Hi Jamie, it would apply to debut author's, but it can also apply to people who have written more than one book, as long as it is the first book that they wrote that you are reading.
So for example -
has written 5 books, but has only been shelved 442 times, so would count for Trendsetter bonus points.
Her first book was
, so if you read that, because it was her first book, even though she's written more since, you could claim the '+2 bonus points if your chosen book is the first book written/published by that author.' (although to be honest this book has only 61 ratings anyway, so you'd max out on bonus points just because it has so few ratings ☺)
So for example -
