SOLVED. 30 years old Novel with 800+ pages. [s]

This Novel was read 10 years ago & it's book cover is with Egypt Man holding a Globe on

his shoulder on a white background.

Story is on related to American riches & a Woman who holds their family business & invests money on Railways, African Diamonds & quenching for power in year 18th century.

I forgot the book title & author so please help me in finding the book title.

So the protagonist is female? Or are there multiple protagonists?

Also I think you mean 19th century, since you mention railroads.

Does part of the story relate to Egypt? Since there's an Egyptian man on the cover.
