Would you consider making a recommendation??

Hello Community,

I am by no means a super fast reader, but I am steady. I methodically read 20 books per year on average and I take my time to enjoy them. Some, I read faster than others but to me, there's no greater misuse of time than to read a book that isn't entertaining, engaging and something that makes me think - or at least one of those things. (Mr. Mercedes). I thought about that book must have been for two months after I read it - errrr.

It's difficult to recommend a book for someone else to read because we all have different tastes. So, may I share just a bit of my reading tastes with you? Well, forget that, let me tell you what I would LIKE to read. I want something that will keep me on the edge of my seat for as long as possible. I cannot read horror or gore. That's it. Simple.

I've read most of all John Grisham books and I find them entertaining. Some are better than others. I've read a couple of CIA and FBI books. 'American Radical' was incredible. Last year I read 'True Faith and Allegiance' by Tom Clancy. At 700+ pages, yeah, it was long, but it kept me entertained. So I am reaching out to you to pick your brain and to ask if you would consider making a recommendation. A long time ago, I read a book named 'By Reason of Insanity,' by Shane Stevens. Yeah, I know, it's bloody and gorey but that wasn't necessarily the premise of the book. And how can a book be interesting without some of those things, righ?

If I were making a recommendation, that is the book I would recommend. I think it was published in 1988 but I could have swore I read it a long time before that. Maybe it was 1978.

So there you have it. That's my request. I wrote this post in this fashion, because we are all here because we all love to read, right? Otherwise, I would have put my bottom line up front. lol. All recommendations are welcome and I will continue my search for the best book on Earth through my GoodReads membership.
