I am sorry I have not posted sooner. I started this last week and am about half way through and loving it. I would have finished it by now but I found a reading buddy in another group to read it with me and she is reading at a slower pace. I think the writing is wonderful. I love the characters. Each chapter just sucks me in. I love the humor and I also love the deep feelings of loss and futility.
I finished this last night and I did not want it to end. I loved the writing. I thought the chapters where he lampooned the political powers was so fantastically funny and true. I loved the way he swung me from laughter to near tears and back again. I thought the characters, even the minor ones were vivid enough to be personal friends. I can't say enough about this one. I think it will make my list of favorite books of the year.
