Pete | 4 comments I read this book in the mid-80's while I was in middle school. I remember that the men trained in the states for a while to get back into shape with one of the characters who was the biggest physically doing extra running in private so he could beat everyone on their last run. They are not sanctioned by the US government and pay for all their supplies/equipment on their own.

It was a band of about five guys. And one of the antagonists in the camp MIGHT have been named something like Bad Eye (and I know this name is also used in Unbroken -- it is not that book). It is driving me crazy!!!
