Books that engaged with this one's arguments

Does anyone know of a book/article that engaged with the arguments in this book? I found Priority of John to be amazing and insightful, but it seems like 35 years later it isn't where the scholarly consensus is. I'm curious whether that's because the arguments were soundly refuted somewhere or just due to inertia.
