I'm terrible at coming up with names off the top of my head, but here are some pen name generators that might be useful to you:

These generate random names, including the first as well as the last. I'm only trying to come up with a last name, as well as which version of Roxanne goes best with it.

I know, but you could always take just part of the randomly generated name and use it; you don't necessarily have to use the whole thing.

Maybe you could translate a joke that would be really lame in English into another language and use that as your pen name. For example, Kötü Yezar. It sounds enough like a foreign name that most people won't investigate, and those who do will find that it means Bad Writer. But I called that one. You can't have it.

Maybe I should just take the ones I kind of like and post them here? Get your opinions?

Roxanne Roll? Okay, sorry. I had to say it.
But I really like word play. Roxanne Noyd? Roxanne Gree? Roxanne Archee?
...yeah, I'll be leaving now.
I'd like a last name that has some sort of dark meaning... I'm considering Roxanne Acerbi. It means "heartless" or "harsh" in Italian.I've also come up with Roxanne Archer and Rox Lyrell on my own. I've gotten a vote for each name, so both suggestions are tied.
I've read online that authors should try to stay away from the beginning of the bookshelf, the end, and near famous authors/ (So no R or M names for sure.)I'm taking off Acerbi from my list of ideas because it doesn't fit the first name at all. Besides, it's Italian and although it sounds cool, I don't have any Italian ancestors.
My last name is - however - German. So many I should have another German last name...? I'd like to stick with the L because that shelf is very popular.
I've also decided to stick with Roxanne, not a nickname. The reason why is because Roxanne is a unique name added to a common one (Rox + Anne). I'd like to have a last name that gives a similar impression.
Does anyone have any ideas that might fit this criteria? Otherwise, I plan to do some online research (again), and will be posting a whole new list of ideas.
(Roxanne Lyrell is still on the list, by the way.)
German 'L' surname possibilities:(Roxanne) Lewald
(Roxanne or R.) Leimann
(Roxanne) Lerner
and
(Roxanne) Leberecht
(And I would suggest the last name 'Marx', but alas it starts with an 'm')
Anyway I hope you find the name your looking for! Pen names are hard!
My pen name is just my first and middle name and then my last initial;) I mean, it sounds pretty good too: Allison Rene' S.
Ooh, I really like Marx... "Roxanne Marx" has a nice ring to it. And I really like the definition too. :)
I'm pretty sure Roxanne Marx is the name that I'm going to go with. Thank you for your help everyone! :)
Hmmm, a pen name would be nice! My English teacher, whenever I write for her she shows it to like everyone, maybe I should stop handing them to her. I'll start dropping them on her desk when she isn't looking with an alias name on the top. "Trumpeter" "Maximillian" "Helga" "Greg" "Fuzzy" lol XD
Depends on what you want. Do you want your real name involved, or a pseudonym? I like to initial names myself.
My votes are on Peyton Pierce. Looks like you have a lot of good choices, Roxanne!I've been pondering this myself for years. I don't mind using my first name, Grace, but I don't want to use my last name. I write fantasy mostly and like dark themes.
You could pull a nickname from your first name, like Eve and go from there, maybe? Or do something similar with your middle and last name. It's also worth considering what genre you write for different sounds.
This pen name generator seems really silly, but it's actually given me some inspiration. At the very least, it's a good starting ground and you can play around with the ideas it comes up with.http://www.plot-generator.org.uk/pen-...

I'm still trying to think of what I want to include in my pen name... all I have so far is "Roxanne", or at least some variation of it. I write pretty much any genre, but usually darker stuff. The book I'm working on right now is a dark-ish Urban Fantasy. And I write a lot of Horror short stories in my free time.
I'm not sure if I want my pen name to be spooky sounding or misleading though...
