I had a request come up on a listopia list. I think I found a solution, but I thought I would ask just to be clear in case of further requests, or if my solution doesn't work.
Beyond the Game is the listopia list - the full discussion is at the bottom.
Background : A few months ago, I removed a few books that didn't meet the guidelines of the list. The list is for books relating to popular (existing) video games (kingdom hearts, mario, etc.) The books were all by an author named Alex Letner, and according to all the information I could find (basically what goodreads gave, and the Amazon pages) were a series of Sci-Fi graphic novels, and there is nothing mentioning video games in the summaries, or other page information.
One of the users brought up that apparently they are "game scripts" that the author wrote, which is why they thought they had fit the list description (I will be editing the list description to make the guidelines more clear when I get a chance), but this isn't mentioned on the book pages or what you can see in the Amazon previews of the books I checked.
Current issue: Some of the voters who had added the books have requested that as the books were removed from the list, their votes should be as well. The individual book votes, of course, were removed when the books were. However, the page still seems to be counting the users as "People Who Voted on this List", which I believe is where they want to be removed from.
I think I found a solution for this, and have requested they try it - if they click on their name under the "People who voted..." section, you can click to 'remove my votes' or 'edit my votes'. I suggested clicking these and seeing if it removes them, although I still intended to bring to matter up here in case it didn't work. I'm not sure if this is perhaps a permissions issue - if someone with a higher level of permissions would need to handle this?
