Yuval Kfir | 3 comments Looking for a short story that I read around 1985 as part of an anthology of horror/thriller short stories.
The story tells of a young couple entering a forest, and they notice songbirds following them in a disturbing manner. Finally they find themselves encircled by birds who have fallen very quiet and look very sinister, and then the birds just pounce on them.
I can't recall the name of the anthology or the story or author.
I hope this is within the group rules (looking for a short story not a book...)
Thanks in advance!

Ok I can keep looking. I think I saw another book that mentioned something similar as well.

Thank you, but no, it's not "The Birds" by du Maurier. Also, the anthology didn't have any well-known story in it as far as I remember, definitely not "Flowers for Algernon".

Yuval Kfir ~~
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 189 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Yuval Kfir | 3 comments Oops, thanks to all who posted here - someone on Reddit helped me find the story. It is called "Our Feathered Friends" and the author is Philip Macdonald.
