Nay (4ukcats) **4 stars** for What the Wind Knows! What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon Thanks, Jean!

For someone who doesn't ordinarily go for HR or time travel romance (except for Outlander), I think that's pretty great!

It's hard to tell for sure, but I may have rated it a tad higher if I hadn't listened to it. Don't get me wrong--it was an excellent production and both narrators were great. They acted their parts and you could tell they knew what they were doing. However, I'm just so picky about male voices, and to my ear, this narrator wasn't suited for a romance lead. He sounded a bit nasally, loud, and unsexy to me, so it was hard for me to fall into their romance when he was narrating. Actually, I enjoyed the female narrator doing the male voice much more, which is NOT my norm. I usually LOVE male Irish, Scottish, and British romance narration and hate when female narrators do male voices. Go figure!

He was so good that I'd actually seek him out for a mystery or something like a police procedural, but in my mind, his voice just wasn't the best for this.

Anyway, I still highly recommend the book, and looking at Audible, only about 3 other people out of over 1,000 had a problem with the male voice, so it's probably best to find out for yourself!

It's weird--I go in cycles. Back in 2014-2016, I spent a ton of money on a membership with Audible, and I listened to 2-3 per week, but then I started with the medical stuff and had less and less time, so I canceled my membership and started reading pretty much exclusively. Now I'm happy to be doing both! I get what I can from the library, and I really enjoy listening when I'm hobbling 🤣 around doing household things.

Leslie | 2430 comments Listening to audibooks def makes chores and cooking more tolerable for me. I also listen in car if I'm driving alone.
