In April our mental health nonfiction group read was chosen by poll. Winner was The Imp of the Mind: Exploring the Silent Epidemic of Obsessive Bad Thoughts by Lee Baer.

Lee Baer, Ph.D., is an author, clinical psychologist, researcher, and Clinical Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, with three decades of pioneering research in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxiety and depressive disorders.
His book The Imp of the Mind was the first to describe how to recognize and treat disabling intrusive violent, sexual and blasphemous thoughts.
Dr. Baer co-founded the OCD treatment and research programs at both the Massachusetts General Hospital and at McLean Hospital. He continues to practice, train future leaders in psychology and psychiatry and to conduct research full-time. His extensive research on OCD and other topics in psychology has been featured in major newspapers, and he has made numerous TV and radio appearances.

RM(Alwaysdaddygirl) (alwaydaddygirl) | 541 comments I had a problem with putting this book on hold with my library. I do not have any over due fees. I prefer to handle this in person then on the phone. I hope to get it work out soon.

RM(Alwaysdaddygirl) (alwaydaddygirl) | 541 comments Aloha All,

Not trying to step on toes. How is everyone liking this book? Do you not like this book? Why?

No questions are ever required. We want to make this a good learning journey and not something a person does not like.

Please let us know your thoughts!
