1. Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese
I saw the movie 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It's an important (and heart-breaking) story that needs to be heard. I'm interested to see how the book and movie compare and to experience the writing of Wagamese.
2. Sweetland by Michael Crummey
3. The First Men in the Moon by H.G. Wells

I read Indian Horse and thought it was very good. In my review, I said it is a stunning exposé of the horrors of Canada's church run residential schools.

I haven't seen the movie and would be interested in knowing how it compares.

Raul, if you read Murdoch's The Sea, The Sea, please let me know what you think of it. I've had it sitting on my shelf forever, but I've yet to read it.
The only book I've read on your list is Dust. It's a difficult book because of its content and challenging style. But it is well worth the effort. I gave it 4 stars in my review.

Glad to hear that Carrie! I thought I knew what I wanted to read in April and now I am struggling to decide what I am in the mood for! Decisions, decisions...

Janet, it is alright. Michelle narrates it, so it has that "Chicago nasal twang." I am also mildly bothered by the way she pronounces every word beginning with "str" as "shtr." But really that is minor. Her story is interesting, and I am enjoying it.

So many books, so little time....
