Most of us worked and still managed to read a chunk! That's pretty awesome. That being said... the challenge should fall on Saturday next year?

@Laura i guess really people work on all days of the week but i would say that saturday or even sunday might cut down on the amount of people who have to work. also i think it's been friday for the past two years so maybe it could just be a different day each year?

DEAR is always on Beverly Cleary's birthday, 4/12, so it is a different day most years. Unless, of course, the NBRC version wasn't on the day itself, I wouldn't know that.

No, Last year it was on Thursday. Dear day is always the 12th. As the title suggests "drop" everything and read. If you can great if not then no biggie. It's just for fun so whatever people can read is great.

oh, i didn't know it was linked to a particular person and was a thing outside of this group. i thought you guys just made it up lol. and it probably was on thursday last year then, but since i always work on thursdays as well that's probably why i was confused.

Phew! First time online since last post here, late on DEAR Day! I did indeed manage to read over 2 hours altogether, so even though
I didn’t completely finish anything, I did read enough that I finished a book the next morning, and I earned the coin. Yay :)
