Remembrance of Things Past question

I have a Widget on my blog. There are ongoing issues with it. One I've pretty much given up on is getting the larger Goodreads logo (larger than the retired Shelfari logo) to fit within the allotted space for the widget (as the Shelfari logo did). I went around and around with the help folks to no avail. To hell with it.

The current issue I have is that the widget displays three books I'm "currently reading." I haven't given up on the Marcel Proust, A. R. Ammons, and Ronald Day books currently on display in the widget, but I haven't cracked them in a year or so. The current books that I AM reading right now and for which I update my progress don't show up because the neglected back-burner books are still filling the three visible spots in the widget. Do I actually have to remove the neglected books from my bookshelves to have my widget reflect my current reading?
