Mariska | 1 comments I read this book in school in about fourth grade, and I'm 21 now, so about
thirteen years ago. It was about a white boy who was picked up by Native
Americans when he was young. I don't remember a lot about it, but I am
pretty sure that he was raised as the chiefs younger brother, by his
mother. I believe there was a part where he got sick with a cold, and the
way they treated it was with steam in a hole dug in the ground. I think
there was also a part where another boy shot him in the leg with an arrow
on accident, and he just pushed it out and said no harm done. He thought he
was becoming more like the chief when he did that. There might also have
been a part where his mother was sick because she was ageing, and he had to
run and find the medicine person.

Do you remember the cover?
Part of a series?
Does the boy remember anything about his biological family?
