My Own Recovery...

I am working on some new marketing material for my current book published mid-last year. I am also working on building my platform for the book I am currently working on. Would seeing the following make you interested enough to buy my book(s) for you or someone else?

My name is Josef Miyasato and I am an addict in recovery. I am an award-winning and Pushcart Prize nominated author. My book, The Anti-Hero & The Disciple takes a difficult yet ultimately rewarding look at the human condition through addiction, suffering, healing, and hope.

Although I am not a professional counselor, or expert on addiction and recovery by any means, I am intimate with the debilitating struggles of addiction. I was sexually and physically abused as a child. At 10 I was introduced to pornography, which would later turn into my most difficult addiction. At 17 I was living in a meth house. At 18 I was selling pot. By the time I turned 21 I had been drinking heavily and getting blackout drunk for five years. There were many times when I wanted to take my own life. It took ten years to get my B.A. in Creative Writing due to addiction, depression, and anxiety.

One of my primary purposes in life is to help others find freedom the demons of addiction. My online efforts in this can be seen through RecoverMyBrother on Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit.
