I'll still be playing along for fun, but don't wait for me come Thursday nights, Abbey.

I just discovered this author this year and have quickly become a big fan. This book centers around a serial killer called Mama's Boy because his deal is to kill single mother's while their young son's watch.
There were so many suspects in this one I couldn't trust anyone including the police. Masterfully written. I highly recommend.
Throw in a rustic cabin in the isolated woods to set the scene. Perfect. I'll never go camping in the woods again. By the time I got about 100 pages in I couldn't put this one down.

It's not so many books as you might think. A standalone will cover any number with a 1 or 0 in it. A series #2 will cover all the 20's plus a 32 or 42 spot. Either of these books might also have the author name, title, publication date, cover image, location or cover color. Usually with 5 books out of the library I can cover any possibility for the next two weeks. And I try, where possible to make sure I have at least TWO books that will cover any possible spot we land on. That way I have a choice.
And, no, I don't read every book I check out. Some go back without even having been opened.
Good luck playing.

Hey it was worth a shot, right?

This sounds good! I've heard from a coworker that he is a good author. Does it matter which book is read first or are they all stand alones?

I probably have a dozen kindle books checked out at any given moment Ashley. Love Overdrive

I'm already plotting for next week. Since we are on spot 23 right now either a 2 or 3 will work for all possibilities next week so I am seeing what I want to grab now since they are 3 week checkouts.

I have so many books saved up on my Kindle that it's usually not a problem:)
I get daily emails from Bookbub, Midlist, and BookGorilla with daily kindle deals. I always get the free ones if they sound good.
I think I have several books in mind for 2 or 3 as well.

For sure! I saw the post. Too bad though.

I know the feeling...I kept picking them up to.
But then I am like wait a minute...I need to read these. I made a goal to not pick up any books this year....it has worked out fairly well, I have only grabbed a few.
I have been trying to make this the year of the TBR!

My goal for 2014 is to finish some series. So far about 35 up to date.

I won't either!! Lol!! I've come to terms with it though.

I don't know about the ebook stuff for Amazon or my library. It might be cause I'm in Australia. It might also be cause I'm not tech savvy;$

If you're curious, ask your librarian next time you visit. That's how I got set up:)

just finished Scarlet. Will post review later tonight.

Rate: 5 stars!! :)
Review: well..this story definitely had a lot of twists and turns...and I find it hard to believe that anyone would be able to figure out who was guilty before Colin Pendragon solved the case!!! This is Victorian England at it's most thrilling. I could really picture all the comings ang goings at Buckingham Palace...I could see all the dark alleyways. I felt like this case was throwing all these curveballs, trying to confuse and confound....and then on top of everything else, he was working another case at the same time! yet he always had that cunning gleam in his eyes.
I now have to buckle down and wait (rather impatiently) for the next book...which I know will come!

I haven't already said this, I'll say it again...I love this series! The second book was just as fast paced and intriguing as the first. Book #2 moves back and forth intricately between Scarlet and Cinder. Meyer does a great job of giving the readers some new characters with a new but connected storyline, while continuing on Cinder's story. Meyers brings these prissy fairy tale girls into the future with ease. While Cinder trades in her glass slipper for a cyborg leg, Scarlet trades in her cape and basket for a hoodie and gun.
This series reminds me of Once Upon a Time, X-men and Firefly all mashed up into one delicious series. I almost don't want to read the next one because the fourth doesn't come out until next year.

Completed 9/18
4 stars.
Another great book in the series. I think I am falling in love with Marissa Meyers! In this second book we meet Scarlet who is looking for her grandmother who has disappeared. We watch Cinder escape from jail, and pick up another prisoner, a young ladies man who just happens to have a ship. Wolf leads Scarlet on a chase, and we start to wonder whose side be is actually on. Kai makes a deal with the Lunar Queen, and now it is up to Cinder to save him...and possibly Earth!

◆ Week 4: ◆

For the alternative of a T author.
Finished 9/21 Rating ★★★★
This was a new author to me in the Swedish crime noir. It starts out with 6 years old Jens deciding to go exploring on the other side of his grandfather's garden wall. A thick fog comes in and Jens is never seen again.
The prime suspect is Nils who is the local bogeyman. The disappearance of Jens goes unsolved for 20 years when the family receives a package in the mail with one of Jens sandals in it. The story is pretty involved but definitely kept my interest and I will certainly read more by this Swedish author.
